Shadow Yoga

The Shadow Yoga system utilises moving Karana forms as a tool for the body, mind & breath cultivation

Karana

Karana is the folding and unfolding of the body's 6 limbs in action with a bodily stance in a low or high squat, a gesture (mudra) with the hands and movements of the feet. Swaying, stepping and circling transitions link one Karana to another.

Consistent practice of the Karana forms brings to life the rhythmic life currents hidden in the body and can lead to a peaceful space within

Karana: the causal factor

Ka: Space

Ra: fire, transformation

Ana: posture, shape, breathing

A beautiful practice cultivating a moving meditation that takes one's mind to a still place for the seated Asana practice and seated meditation

The retreat will focus on one Karana form that is appropriate for the group
